Tech company Kaseya, worth $2 billion, plans to hire 500 staff
Miami based Kaseya, with their February acquisition of cybersecurity company RocketCyber, plans to hire 500 extra staff by 2022, to help provide round the clock monitoring of the cybersecurity platform, that detects and responds to cyber threats aimed at their clients. The recruitment drive will hire sales, marketing and customer support team positions. As well as hiring new staff, Kaseya will add additional office space to their current Miami headquarters. Of the planned 500 extra staff, 50 will be associate or graduate employees, hired from the end of June, for positions in tech support and account management.
We reported back in February, that Kaseya, the IT management software company, had bought the managed security operations platform RocketCyber, continuing Kaseya’s strategy to invest in its platform. The acquisition allowed Kaseya to make RocketCyber cloud-agent security operations centre (SOC), available on the Kaseya IT Complete Platform. Kaseya’s CEO Fred Voccola, had indicated at the start of the year that they planned to make a series of acquisitions during 2021, to add more depth to the security area, which has become one of the main areas of business for MSPs during the coronavirus pandemic.
With the RocketCyber acquisition, they are now in a position to hire 500 more staff to cope with the extra workload. Other investments are now understood to include expanding their headquarters in order to cater for the extra staff and also adding additional office space in another part of Miami.
RocketCyber’s managed SOC service comprises of breach detection, threat hunting, realtime monitoring of Microsoft 365 email with log monitoring for Windows and macOS endpoints and firewalls on both Azure Active Directory and Office 365 environments. This allows subscribers to have security analysts check their devices for any compromised threats and remove any vulnerabilities and then restore their network access once a device is made safe.
With the acquisition of RocketCyber, Kaseya added the go-to security solution to its IT Complete suite, which gave their MSP customers security protection. Their new recruitment drive will mean that Kaseya's expansion will benefit both their existing customers and see Kaseya as a major player in cybersecurity and MSP.
